Samhæng

Samhæng is a specialized UX consultancy that involves users in the collaborative design of complex-data systems. We have led co-design and UX efforts on a range of large-scale, international projects, such as FOLIO (an open source library services platform), the LOD Platform (a linked open data library search engine and discovery layer) and ReShare (an open source interlibrary loan system). We have co-designed software with a multitude of organizations, mostly national libraries — such as Library of Congress, British Library and NLM — and academic libraries — such as the libraries of Harvard, Yale, Stanford and MIT.

“Samhæng’s method of sketching designs and features in real time helped me as a subject expert feel heard.”
– Alexandra Provo (NYU) on the ReShare project
“The ability to see interfaces come together in real-time sketches keeps our brainstorming focused and productive...”
– Colin Van Alstine (Smith) on the FOLIO project
“Through this kind of iterative process, we came up with a design that I thought was creative and well thought out.”
– Vitus Tang (Stanford) on the LOD Platform project
“...an efficient and often fun experience for us as on screen mock-ups evolve before our eyes, mirroring the evolution of ideas...”
– Lisa McColl (Lehigh) on the FOLIO project
“…I very much like their design approach, where users are involved in an engaging and respectful way.”
– Oddrun Ohren (NLN) on the LOD Platform project
